MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – December 6, 2010 5:00 PM

Selectmen Present:         Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine

Also Present:  Wayne Carr
                     

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

The Tolland Building Committee will be having a pre-bid meeting on December 15th at 11AM.

The board asked Wayne to have the trees that are located on the Public Safety Complex site along Hartland Road be removed before the pre-bid meeting. Wayne stated that the crew will be working on the removal tomorrow, Tuesday, December 7th.

Wayne was also asked about the removal of the boards located in the boiler room at the Department of Public Works. Wayne asked that the boards be removed by an outside contractor. Wayne and the DPW crew are uncomfortable with all the electrical that are located in the room.

Bob Solek Masonry started the chimney at the Tolland Library.

Wayne stated that there are culverts that still need to be reset on Schoolhouse and Hartland Road.

Received an email from Robert Maselek on changes with the Council on Aging. They would like to appoint a board and have the Council on Aging expand their services not to just having events.

Jean Jinks will be asked to meet with the board next week to discuss some possible changes to the Tattler.

Received a letter from WPOA updating the board on the change to the dam repair on Cranberry Pond.

Received a letter from Reinhardt Associates in regards to the Public Safety Complex and DPW USDA/ARRA Certification. The letter states they have reviewed the plans, specifications and documents for the subject project. Reinhardt certifies that they documents are in compliance with Buy American provisions, section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Also, certifying that all iron, steel, and manufactured goods referenced in the documents are either produced in the United States or the subject of a waiver of the requirement as approved by the Secretary of Agriculture.
