MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – March 22, 2010 5:00 PM

Selectmen Present:        Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Robert Maselek and Jean Armitage from the Bicentennial Committee met with the board on Insurance coverage and Police coverage. Eric Munson, Jr. Building Inspector will do an inspection of the church to evaluate the capacity. Jean Jinks asked if one Tattler could be allocated for the bicentennial.

The board met with John and Patricia Verones of jPV Consulting LLC. The Board of Selectmen will verify that financing of the building projects as been discussed. Discussion of doing both projects at the same time so that the projects would take less time to complete.

John Kearin of Burt Hill Road requested a speed limit sign and Children at Play be placed on Burt Hill Road. Granted.

The Town Caucus and Budget Hearing date was changed to May 3rd.

Chief Munson would like to increase the speed limit on Burt Hill Road from 40 to 35mph. Speed Limit sign inventory will be checked.

Eric asked if the town would remove several old trees on Burt Hill Road.

The Tolland Police Department are working on the removal of several unregistered cars located at 115 Covell Road. The Police Department has requested the removal three times.

Sergeant Deming and Officer Walker finished their field sobriety test class.

The fencing surrounding the cemetery on Burt Hill Road needs to be replaced.

Susan Voudren of Hartland Road has continually asked if the culverts and ditches on the sides of Hartland Road have been cleaned. Board will speak to Wayne.
