MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – April 7, 2008 5:15 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., James Deming and Steven DellaGiustina
A request was receive from Chairman, Robert Gery of The Public Safety Municipal Complex Building committee requesting funds for additional consulting services. A Special Town Meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th at 7PM to transfer $15,000 from the Stabilization Fund.
Also, included in the Special Town Meeting is an article to transfer funds from the Stabilization Fund to cover costs for some renovations to the Tolland Town Hall.
The Board of Selectmen voted to scheduled a Public Hearing on May 13th for the purpose of negotiating a lease for not more then ten years, for the property located at 162 Colebrook River Road, for the purpose of constructing, installing, operating,~maintaining and repairing one or more cellular/wireless communication facilities to provide personal communications services, including a telecommunications tower, antennas, an equipment pad or shelter, cables, transmission and utility wires, poles, conduits, pipes, accessories and related equipment and improvements at said Town-owned property, including~a non-exclusive right of reasonable access thereto and to the closest source of electric and telephone facilities
A letter was received from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts informing the board of the Chapter 90 apportionment for Fiscal 2009 is $124,409.
Received a letter from MIIA notifying the board of an amount of $2,534.09 which represents full and final settlement in relation to a claim from Verizon New England.
Reviewed a letter from Attorney, Jeremia A. Pollard, Town Counsel concerning an easement request from property owner Richard Dziedzic. Town Counsel advised the Board that the request would be problematic for several reasons, including the fact that there has been no assessment of the value of the transfer, much less the diminution in value to town property.
