MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – October 1, 2007 5:10 PM

Bids for the Lawn Care were opened:
First bid was from O’Brien and Son:
Town Hall $35
Town Library $20
Town Green $45
Route 57 Cemetery $60
Burt Hill Road Cemetery $24
Rivers Road Cemetery $35
Twining Cemetery $80
Twining Cemetery will be mowed every two weeks during the month of May and June and only once per each month of July, August and September. Total for all property mowed weekly (including Twining Cemetery being mowed every other is $299. Total for all property being mowed every week (including Twining Cemetery mowed every other week) is $219.
Second bid was from LaCasse Land Management, LLC:
Lawn maintenance for all seven town properties, Town Green, Town Library, Town Hall, Spring Hill Cemetery, South Quarter Cemetery, Burt Hill Cemetery and Twining Cemetery. Price includes trimming around all outbuildings and tombstones as well as maintaining the edging of al walkways. $270/ weekly
The Board of Selectmen took bids under advisement.
The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to appoint Frank Fazi to serve on the Conservation Commission.
Eric R. Munson, Jr. member of the Historical Committee was granted permission to use the Tolland Town Hall following a Cemetery Walk on Saturday, October 20th.
Richard and Jacqueline Dziedzic discussed their current easement. The current easement is granting the easement to Richard Dziedzic and the property is deeded to
The Trustee of the Jacqueline Dziedzic Nomin. The Dziedzic’s are requesting the town to grant them an easement with a length of time (50-100 years). The Board of Selectmen requested Mr. and Mrs. Dziedzic to proceed with a Title V to be sure on location of the system before the board schedules a Special Town Meeting.
The Board of Selectmen met with Attorney Jeremia Pollard to discuss the sealed bids for the sale of the town’s property. Mr. Pollard will proceed with Century 21 to process a “Memo of Sale”
Property Sealed Bids:
Map 119 Lot 13 South Village - William Silk of Torrington, Connecticut bid $15,000 contingent upon a perc test satisfactory. Also, contingent on the lot being an approved building lot by the town of Tolland. If the bid is not accepted, apply the same terms to a bid on Map 119 Lot 66 Forest Road. $100.00 submitted.
