Board of Selectmen
Town of Tolland
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – May 21, 2007 5:07 PM
Selectmen Present: James Deming and Steven DellaGiustina
Also Present: Ted Locke, Emergency Management Director
Loren Clark
Ted stated that the Town of Tolland does not comply with NEMA in that the town does not have a Local Emergency Planning Committee. Ted is requesting that Tolland regionalize with surrounding towns (Granville, Blandford, Montgomery and Westfield). The Board of Selectmen voted to have Ted continue the regionalization process.
Loren Clark representing Wildwood Property Owners Assoc. Loren informed the board that WPOA at their meeting of May 20, 2007 voted to move forward with accruing Map 116 Lot 10.
Loren asked about whether a lot without road frontage can be built upon. In other words having a right of way is not enough. The board understood the property to be a building lot but will look into the question.
Loren also stated that he had walked the “right of way” and felt that emergency equipment would not be able to travel on the “right of way”. Steve will walk the property.
A letter was sent from Attorney Jerome Scully to Pathway Farms regarding doing business without permit or license. Pathway Farms was directed by The Tolland Planning Board on what was needed to obtain the proper permits and licenses.
Received an email from Verizon Wireless notifying the board that Verizon may be interested in leasing space at the Transfer Station for a proposed cell site. The Board of Selectmen took the letter under advisement.
Meeting adjourned 6:56PM
Respectfully submitted,
Margaret McClellan
