MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – May 1, 2006 6:15 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., James Deming and Wesley Greene II
Received notification from The Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Division of Local Services informing the board that The Commissioner of Revenue has determined that the locally assessed values of real and personal property in Tolland represent full and fair cash valuation as of January 1, 2005 for fiscal year 2006 and that these proposed property assessments satisfy the minimum requirements for certification.
The Board of Selectmen voted one tax rate for all classes of property.
Susan Voudren requesting permission to use the Tolland Town Hall the evening of Wednesday May 3rd. for personal use. Permission granted.
Letter received from The Tolland Volunteer Fire Department informing the board that the Tolland Volunteer Fire Department membership elected Robert Littlefield, SR to the position of Fire Chief on April 25, 2006. The Selectmen voted unanimously Robert Littlefield as Fire Chief.
John Panaia discussed final numbers for DPW Fiscal 2007 budget.
The Selectmen had received from Huntley Associates, P.C. on the condition of town garage. Essentially, he felt the building is repairable. Eric had called him after receiving the report to ask him about the septic system and the well. He felt the septic system could be addressed but wanted to talk with a water specialist in his firm about the water situation. He agreed to call Eric on Wednesday with his comments on the water and to suggest next steps. He said he would be happy to meet with a group to discuss how we might proceed. His firm is capable of managing such a project for us.
