MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – February 27, 2006 6:10 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted.

The Attorney General’s office approved everything. However, they requested referencing the Mass General Law and not state them in the bylaws. That way if a Mass General Law should change our bylaw does not have to be rewritten.
The board voted and accepted the announcement and availability of the rewritten bylaws. The Selectmen also voted to accept the revised copy of the bylaws as the Town Clerk will submit to the Attorney General’s Office for approval. Eric motion to accept and Wes seconded. The Board of Selectmen request Sue, Town Clerk to submit bylaws. Gloria will post bylaws on the Tolland website and make copies available at the Tolland Town Hall, Library and post bylaws in the Tattler.
Gloria suggested forming a new committee to review and rewrite the bylaws.
Sometime during the past week Eric discussed with Fire Chief, Mark Bredenfoerder the proposed agreement of an expenditure of $1,500 - $2,000 to hire Huntley Associates, P.C. a Structural Engineering to provide
· On-site visual structural inspection of current Highway Garage facility in regards to reported structural deficiencies.
· Structural analysis and/or design repairs needed.
Mark agreed to the expenditure from Fire Dept. Expense and Eric wanted to inform the board of their conversation.
A bid was received for the painting of the interior of the Town Hall and Library. The bids will be tabled and discussed with the Finance Committee. The bid was as follows:
Town Hall
- Main Office - $600.00 Small Office - $500.00 Hallway $600.00 Total $1,700.00
Library
- Interior $3,200.00
A town resident approached the Selectmen about the condition of the roads during the winter months. The Selectmen will take it under advisement.
