MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING – May 23, 2005 6:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., James Deming, and Wesley Greene, II
Minutes of previous meeting amended and accepted.
Opened truck bids.
The Truck Center of Connecticut $157,150
Net $ 92,458
Truck Price $ 92,458
McDermott $152,872 - $154,272
Net $ 93,555.
Nutmeg for Truck Body and Equipment $ 57,681
Received a letter from the Black Fly Committee.
Received a letter from the Police Dept. asking permission to shut roads down for the parade.
Wes asked if the church green was covered under the town insurance for Joe Shoplack. Eric replied that it was.
Sue Moore requested the use of the Town Hall on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 9:00 PM starting 6-8-05. The Board of Selectmen agreed.
John Panaia and the board discussed the purchase and or lease of an excavator and the purchase of a screening plant through Chapter 90 funds.
Eric made a motion for John to purchase a new multi product screening plant from Chapter 90 funds, Seconded by Jim Approved by all
Eric made a motion for John to look into leasing or lease/purchase an excavator and to see if it needs to go to a town vote.
Jim Deming, Moderator resigned as Moderator. Eric accepted Jim Deming’s resigned, Wes seconded.
Eric made a motion to nominate Steve DellaGiustina, Jim seconded Wes agreed.
Wes stated he would send Eric Munson, III questions for him as Police Chief and would send copies to Eric Munson, Jr. and Jim Deming.
Wes asked Eric Munson III if he check into the issue with the permit or FID issued to a gentlemen in town. Eric stated he did and the gentlemen has something on his record, but was a very long time ago and was not an issue. Wes asked if this gentleman was truthful about his application for permit. Eric stated that he was truthful.
