Meeting Minutes
December 15, 2009
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3:45 p.m.
Present: Carolyn Locke, Penny Babbitt and Library Director, Jessica Kelmelis. Excused: Gloria Gery
Minutes: The October meeting was cancelled and there are no minutes.
Old Business:
State Funding: The Library was certified on November 5th, 2009 and received the first of two aid payments of $657.48.
Dehumidifier: Information on a dehumidifier for the basement is tabled until the next meeting.
Aetna Volunteer Grants: Grants are still pending but it is hoped that a total amount of $900.00 will be received this fiscal year. The money will either be used for a dehumidifying system for the basement or the beginning of an educational software collection.
Library Exterior: There are no grants currently available through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. In order to be eligible, the Library needs to have a capital improvement plan and improvements must be new growth, not maintenance.
New Business:
Bookmobile: It has been announced by the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System that all future bookmobile services will be cancelled. Due to a lack of funding services have been cut. The delivery system is thus far unchanged.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
Next Meeting: The next Trustees meeting is scheduled for 3:3 0 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Library.
