Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes

October 22nd minutes were read, signed and approved.
The Board was informed that the Assessors are to appear before the Appellate Tax Board on December 4th. The Board moved to have Jessica represent the Board as a whole.
Classification hearing will be held on October 28 at 5pm at the Tolland Town Hall.
One Motor Vehicle abatement application was reviewed and granted. All corresponding paperwork was signed.
One Personal Property abatement was reviewed and granted. All corresponding paperwork was signed.
One Real Estate abatement was reviewed and granted. All corresponding paperwork was signed.
One Veteran Exemption application was reviewed and granted. All corresponding paperwork was signed.
Three Chapter 61B applications were reviewed and granted
The Board signed a renewal contract with CAI for all mapping for 2014.
An issue of ownership for improvements on Tunxis Club leased property was raised by a taxpayer. The Board of Assessors will be researching legal protocol for determining ownership by the town and by the Club. Jessica will be in contact with town counsel to determine her level of conflict of interest.
New “Blue Book” information on parcel id, owner and address needs to be given to various department heads.
