Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes
February 10, 2005
Opened at 10:00 p.m.
In Attendance: Susan Voudren
Jessica Kelmelis, left the meeting from 1:15 – 2:30 p.m.
Susan Moore, attended via conference call from 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.
Business
Read and signed minutes from the 1/26/2005 minutes.
Susan V and Jessica discussed and review FY2006 budget recommendation.
Susan M and Susan V discussed budgets and salary increase for Jessica, Assessor Clerk. Voted to raise Jessica's wage to $12.00, effective 2/13/2005. Also discussed and agreed is that the hourly wage should be brought up to reflect wages being paid by other towns for Assessor functions.
Susan Voudren and Jessica continued review of the budgets.
Assessor Computer – Jessica has emailed Mike at Whalley and is still waiting for answers. She is also discussing this via email with Gloria Gery. Question, is the computer worth fixing up or should we purchase a new one. Monitor is fine. This will be continued to next meeting.
CAMA – Data Entry
Jessica suggested and I agree with her that only one person should be doing the Data Entry in our CAMA system, all others should have a read only security. This will also ensure consistency in our Data. In the event of a special project that requires repetitive data entry into one section, such as building permits, we could set up a temporary security for another one of us to input that data. We will continue this discussion until next meeting in order to give Susan Moore, by copy of these minutes, to have input on this issue.
MAAO Conference/Training at UMASS this Summer.
Susan M, Susan V and Jessica will all be taking different levels of classes. Jessica needs two classes this year; which presents a problem, as this is the only MAAO School in our area and it is offered only once a year. is looking into the availability of MAAO Course 101, which she heard might be coming out on DVD as a self-study course. This course is mandatory and Jessica must take it this year, this would free her up to take a much needed second course.
Revaluation – Names of consultants have been acquired and bids have been sent out.
