Beginning July 1, at the Tolland Transfer Station, we will have a book box and a separate textile box. Please recycle your used books, and clothing. Do not deposit magazines and newspapers in these boxes. The town will receive a small amount revenue from each box quarterly.
In addition to this, please separate your clean, rinsed out, metal cans from the rest of your trash and plastic/glass recyclables. These can go in the metal container.
These would be soup cans, vegetable cans, pet food cans, and other tin cans. Anything that comes in a metal container.
Do your part, take the label off, rinse out food residue and put it in the barrel. There will be a 55 gallon barrel next to the metal container to put your metal cans in.
Remember we get money for metal, we pay for recyclables.
