On Tuesday November 7, 2017 The Fire Department at their regular business meeting will be discussing the formation of an Auxiliary Support Group to assist the fire Department during operational periods. The support group will be made up of volunteers and will conduct support operations to the fire department during fires, searches, weather emergencies etc. The support group will be tasked with supplying food, water, snacks and any other comfort items to Firefighters from Tolland or other communities while operating in Tolland or possible other mutual aid towns. The
auxiliary positions are non-firefighting positions and require no previous experience just the willingness to help those in need and support the fire department to keep them healthy while operating at incidents. The need for this was discovered during the lengthy DPW fire almost a year ago.We are looking to have several people join with different availabilities for service such as day time calls, evening or late night calls. To learn more please join us in the Community Room This Tuesday at 6:30pm the meeting should be about an hour snacks and coffee will be provided.
