An update from the Selectmen
Just a quick update on the status of the DPW garage and vehicles that were lost in the fire on November 20th. Right now we are in the process of dealing with MIIA, the town's insurance company. We have been told by MIIA that everything that was lost will be covered by our insurance.
The two trucks and the loader were taken away last week and will be replaced soon after a check is received. Ed deming, with the help of Steve Messenger and Bob Littlefield, are looking for replacement equipment. The clean up of the building should take place in the very near future and we can start the rebuilding process after that. Please keep in mind that the rebuilding of the DPW garage will not happen overnight. We must follow the bid process to gain a contractor. After that, weather permitting, work will begin.
For right now the DPW trucks are being stored in one of the Fire Department bays and the DPW office will soon be set up in a temporary trailer.
We would like to reassure everyone that our priority is to maintain our roads as we have in the past. We all appreciate your patience and support. Tolland is on the mend.
