The mission of the Granville-Tolland Dollars for Scholars is to promote scholarship, community involvement, and leadership among the undergraduate college students of Granville and Tolland through financial support for their education. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION REMINDER - 2016
If you are a high school student, parent of a high school student or a full time college student, please remember the deadline for the Granville-Tolland Granville Dollars for Scholarship online application is Sunday, May 1st, 2016. To speak with the online application coordinator, please feel free to contact Sarajane Adams at 357-6327 or granvilletollanddfs@gmail.com. If you are a first time applicant, you will need to begin early as the profile portion of the application takes some time to complete. Our instructions are on the
website, Granville-Tolland.dollarsforscholars.org on the Student and Parent tab, Section I. Our scholarship is a merit-based scholarship, no financial information is required.
To be eligible, you must be a resident of Granville or Tolland, have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent if you were home-schooled and plan to become a full time college student. Up to five scholarships (5 years full-time undergrad) may be awarded. This scholarship is based on scholastic performance, a 300 word essay, activities, work experience and community service.
In addition, your selected/current college or university may be a member of Collegiate Partners. A Collegiate Partner school may match a portion of your Granville-Tolland Dollars for Scholarship and does not negatively impact institutional financial aid. Please check out the Scholarship America® site in red to the right of each website page under Collegiate Partners. Financial information may be required.
HELP WANTED
Currently the Granville-Tolland Dollars for Scholars® is in need of volunteers who are interested in making a difference in higher education for our students in Granville and Tolland. We have lost some wonderful volunteers as they have transitioned into retirement and/or have moved away.
Do you value education? Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in our community? We are seeking volunteers willing to bring their experience and energy in fundraising, investment, business and education. All ideas and backgrounds are welcome.
