An Open Letter (email) From Wired West addressing MBI
Tell MBI: We Want WiredWest!

Posted by WiredWest

You may be aware that the Massachusetts Broadband Institute sent a statement to town officials and the media threatening to withhold funding from WiredWest.  In response we’ve issued a press release and a point-by-point rebuttal which we encourage you to read on our home page at www.wiredwest.net .

MBI has thrown the broadband project into chaos, causing more delay.  WiredWest is standing firm against their bureaucratic blackmail, and we remain committed to our mission of bringing you broadband.

MBI is trying to control the broadband project despite our towns putting up almost 2/3 of the money.  They want to prevent our towns from organizing ourselves through the WiredWest coop, which would give us the power to oversee how MBI spends our money.

This is yet another case of Boston telling us what’s in our best interest in western Mass.  But it’s our money and it’s up to us to decide.

MBI will be holding two public meetings next week to bash WiredWest.  We urge you to attend one or both, and let MBI hear from you.

Monday, December 14, 5-7 pm / Olver Transportation Center / 12 Olive Street, Greenfield

Thursday, December 17, 2-4 pm / Berkshire South Community Center / 15 Crissey Road, Great Barrington

Come early and carry a picket sign before the meetings begin.

We voted for WiredWest. We signed up for service from WiredWest.

WE WANT WIREDWEST!
