Work Session No. 11

PRESENT: Mayor Fixell, Trustees Basher, Butler, Hoyt, McGee, McGovern and Zollo; Village Administrator Blau; Village Treasurer Hart; Village Attorney Shumejda
Trustee Basher moved, seconded by Trustee Butler that the following resolution be approved. Motion carried, all voting “aye”. Approved: 7 - 0
RESOLUTION – AWARD OF BID FOR THE WATER MAIN EXTENSION ON ROUTE 9
WHEREAS, bids were opened on August 11, 2014, for the Construction of a water main extension on Route 9 at the jughandle; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Thruway Authority and the Governor’s representative on the New New York Bridge Project have agreed to participate in the cost of this project due to the need for the Village to be able to address possible damage to the Village’s water line during construction on the roadway leading to the bridge as well as the age of the water line, provided however that the Village complete the project within the time frames established by the Thruway Authority and the Governor’s representative; and
WHEREAS, based thereon, the Board of Trustees declared an emergency at their meeting of June 16, 2014 in order to meet the time frames established by the Thruway Authority and the Governor’s representative; and
WHEREAS, three bids were received and the bids received are listed below:
- Joken Development Corporation $228,807.50
- Legacy Supply LLC $240,180.00
- Raines and Nagler Contracting Services, LLC $259,340.00
and
WHEREAS, the Village’s Consultant on the project, Professional Consulting, LLC has reviewed the bids and recommended awarding the bid to Joken Development Corporation; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the bids and the evaluation of the bids by Professional Consulting, LLC and concur in their recommendation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby award the bid for the construction of a water main extension, including valves and hydrants, to Joken Development Corporation of White Plains, New York per their bid of $228,807.50.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Joken Development Corporation for the construction of a water main extension on Route 9.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project may be financed through a future financing resolution.
