PRESENT: Mayor Fixell, Trustees Basher, Butler, Hoyt, McGee, McGovern and Zollo; Administrator Blau; and Treasurer Hart
Demonstration of Conqueror Hook and Ladder at Franklin Tower
The Board of Trustees met at the front of Franklin Tower to observe the capabilities of the current tower ladder used by Conqueror Hook and Ladder. Representatives from Conqueror Hook and Ladder extended the ladder to different parts of the building to demonstrate to the Board where the ladder can reach on the building. At the end of the demonstration, the Board adjourned to Village Hall to discuss the bid specifications for the new tower ladder and what the Board wanted to include in the bid for the wheelbase and the length of the ladder.
Trustee Zollo moved, seconded by Trustee Basher that the following motion be approved. Motion carried, all voting “aye”. Approved: 7-0.
The bid specifications for Conqueror Hook and Ladder shall included a wheelbase of a maximum of 220 inches and the minimum length of the ladder shall be 105 feet.
It was noted by a representative of the Conqueror Truck Committee that five to six manufacturers can meet these specifications. It was noted by a member of the Board that if the Village does not receive a number of bids for the apparatus, that the Board would reject the bids and rebid the apparatus.
Trustee Basher moved, seconded by Trustee Butler and unanimously carried that the Special Meeting be adjourned. Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
