Special Meeting No. 9

PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Basher presiding; Trustees Butler, Hoyt, McGee, McGovern and Zollo; Village Administrator Blau and Village Attorney Shumejda
ABSENT: Mayor Fixell
On the 25th day of June 2008, in the Municipal Building, 21 Wildey Street, Tarrytown, New York 10591, at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees, a Motion to open the meeting was made by Trustee Hoyt and Seconded by Trustee Butler and was unanimously carried.
SET PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ALLOWING VENDING ON SIDEWALKS IN SPECIFIC AREAS IN THE VILLAGE OF TARRYTOWN TO BE HELD ON JULY 21, 2008
Trustee McGovern moved, seconded by Trustee Zollo and unanimously carried that the following be approved: Approved: 6-0
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown hereby schedules a public hearing regarding an amendment to the Village Code which will allow vending on sidewalks in specific areas in the Village of Tarrytown to be held on July 21, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
AUTHORIZATION TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FROM THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF PARKS, RECREATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Trustee Zollo moved, seconded by Trustee McGovern and unanimously carried that the following be approved: Approved: 6-0
BE IT RESOLVED that Michael Blau, as Village Administrator of the Village of Tarrytown, is hereby authorized and directed to file an application for funds from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in accordance with the provisions of Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993 or the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965, in an amount not to exceed $600,000, to be matched by an equal amount provided by the Village, and upon approval of said request to enter into and execute a project agreement with the State for such financial assistance to the Village of Tarrytown for new recreational facilities at the new Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park and Pierson Park. Improvements will include the demolition of dilapidated existing facilities, preparation of a lawn area,
construction of four new tennis courts, a tennis practice wall, a full size basketball court, resurfacing two parking lots, an entrance to the new Park and pedestrian pathway along the Andre Brook tributary to the Hudson River.

Trustee Hoyt moved, seconded by Trustee McGovern and unanimously carried, that the meeting be adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
