- Village Safety Policy
WHEREAS, the personal safety and welfare of Village employees, as well as the general public, is a primary and continuing concern of the Village of Tarrytown; and
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Village to help provide every employee a place of employment free from recognized hazards, which are a potential cause for serious physical harm or health impairment; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby establish the following Village employee safety policy.
POLICY
- An executive safety committee will be established, consisting of key personnel from each major department, and chaired by an appointed safety coordinator. The committee will meet at a minimum every two (2) months to assist in the accomplishment of the Village’s safety goal, reporting its findings and recommendations directly to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will work with the Village Administrator and department heads to appropriately address those committee findings.
2. To accomplish the Village’s goal, Management will:
Implement progressive accident prevention programs, systems, and techniques; Provide a work environment where identified occupational hazards are controlled when elimination is not feasible; Cooperate with
government and labor to optimize employee safety and health.
3. To accomplish the Village’s goal, Department Heads or Supervisory Staff will:
Be responsible for employee protection and performance; Institute work practices which reflect the safest, most efficient methods available for accomplishing the required tasks; Educate and train employees
regarding on-the-job” hazards.
4. To accomplish the Village’s goal, all employees will:
Be expected to conduct their jobs in the safest and healthiest manner prescribed; Be expected to conduct themselves in a way that enhances their personal safety and that of their fellow employees;
Be encouraged to cooperate and contribute towards the overall success of the safety program, including participation in safety activities and committees when requested; Report all accidents and injuries
immediately to their supervisor; Cooperate in the accident reporting and safety evaluation process.
- Appointment Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown hereby appoints Lisanny Neris of Sleepy Hollow, New York, to the position of Part-time Parking Enforcement Officer at an hourly rate of $18.50 effective April 3, 2012 subject to all Civil Service rules and regulations.
- Appointment Tarrytown Municipal Housing Authority
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby appoint Sharon Bryan-Morgan to fill the unexpired term of William Burnette as member of the Tarrytown Municipal Housing Authority for a term to expire in April of 2015.
- Village DPW Facility Leasing Agreement
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby authorize and direct the Village Administrator to enter into a lease agreement between the Village of Tarrytown and the Union Free School District of the Tarrytown to lease a portion of the Village DPW facility to be utilized by the school district for bus repair purposes.
- Parking Management Agreement – ProPark, Inc
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby authorize and direct the Village Administrator to enter into an agreement with ProPark Inc. for the 2012 Yankee baseball season for the purpose to operate game day event parking in the three commuter parking lots adjacent to the Metro North Railroad Station.
- Schedule a Public Hearing – Tentative Budget FY 2012-2013
- BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby schedule a public hearing for April 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, One Depot Plaza, Tarrytown, New York 10591, to hear and discuss the proposed Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2013.
- Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees held on March 5, 2012
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby approve the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held on March 5, 2012 as submitted by the Village Clerk.
- Approval of the Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees held on March 20, 2012
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby approve the minutes of the special meeting of the Board of Trustees held on March 20, 2012 as submitted by the Village Clerk.
- Approval of Audited Vouchers
- BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby approve Abstract No. 18 of Audited Vouchers in the total amount of $469,053.41as presented by the Village Treasurer.
