Regular Meeting
June 19, 2013 8:00 p.m.


PRESENT:        Acting Chairperson Greenwood; Members, Mr. Carr and Ms. Pinckney

ABSENT: Mr. Perry, Mr. Mignogna and Mrs. Byrnes.

GRACEMERE AT EMERALD WOODS – 8 EMERALD WOODS

Justin Minieri, architect, reviewed with the Board plans to construct a new single family residence.

Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  
No one appeared.

“Gracemere at Emerald Woods – 8 Emerald Woods - I have reviewed this application for a new single family house and determined that the proposal appears to pose no significant adverse environmental impact.”

Ms. Pinckney moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to approve the construction of a new single family residence at 8 Emerald Woods as shown on the plans received by the Building Department dated April 22, 2013.

WEBBER RESIDENCE – 9 TARRYHILL ROAD

The Board reviewed plans to replace existing siding, windows and front door.

Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  
No one appeared.

“Webber – 9 Tarryhill Road - I have reviewed this application to replace existing siding, windows and front door and determined the proposals appear to pose no significant adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Pinckney and unanimously carried to approve replacement of existing siding, windows and front door at 9 Tarryhill Road as shown on the plans received by the Building Department dated May 9, 2013.

STREIT RESIDENCE – 65 CASTLE HEIGHTS AVENUE

Christina Griffin, architect, reviewed with the Board plans to install solar panels on roof.


Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  
No one appeared.

“Streit – 65 Castle Heights Avenue - I have reviewed this application to install solar panels on the roof and determined the proposal appears to pose no significant adverse environmental impact.”

Ms. Pinckney moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to approve the installation of solar panels on the roof at 65 Castle Heights Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department dated May 22, 2013.  

NINE STREETS NEW YORK – 36 ½ MAIN STREET

The Board reviewed plans for a new awning sign and window decals in the Main Street Historic District.

Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  
No one appeared.

Ms. Pinckney moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to issue a “Certificate of Appropriateness” for a new awning sign and window decals at 36 ½ Main Street as shown on the plans received by the Building Department dated May 30, 2013.

A NU TOY STORE – 16 MAIN STREET

The Board reviewed plans for a new perpendicular sign in the Main Street Historic District.

Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  
No one appeared.

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Pinckney and unanimously carried to issues a “Certificate of Appropriateness” for a new perpendicular sign at 16 Main Street as shown on the plans received by the Building Department dated June 5, 2013.

LEVIN/CUNNINGHAM – 121 NEPERAN ROAD

Christina Griffin, architect described to the Board plans for a proposed one-story addition, two-story bay window addition, and deck.

Acting Chairperson Greenwood questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.  


Benjamin Sands – 131 Neperan Road expressed concerns regarding the historical nature of the homes on Neperan Road, his concerns about privacy and the value to his home.  He said it changes the character of the house which he feels has the qualities of a Historic District.

This application has to be approved by the Planning Board and the Zoning Board and then come back to the ARB for their approval.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Greenwood and unanimously carried that the minutes of the Architectural Review Board’s May 15, 2013 meeting be approved as submitted.  Motion carried.
