Regular Meeting
August 16, 2006         8 p.m.

PRESENT:        Chairman Perry; Members, Mrs. Byrnes, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Mignogna, Mr. Carr and

ABSENT: Ms. Pinckney

LEVINE RESIDENCE – 35 CREST DRIVE

The Board reviewed plans for window replacement, siding repair and molding replacement.                    

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Levine Residence – 35 Crest Drive – I have reviewed this application for window replacement, siding repair and molding replacement and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Mignogna moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve window replacement, siding repair and molding replacement at 35 Crest Drive as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 20, 2006 and July 21, 2006.

PERALTA RESIDENCE – 6 MECHANICS AVENUE

The Board reviewed plans to remove aluminum siding and replace with vinyl siding.                     

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Peralta Residence – 6 Mechanics Avenue – I have reviewed this application to remove aluminum siding and replace with vinyl siding and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Ms. Lambert moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve removal of aluminum siding and replace with vinyl siding at 6 Mechanics Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department June 29, 2006.

THAYER RESIDENCE – 53 LOH AVENUE

The Board reviewed plans to remove vinyl siding and replace with shingles, repaint, replace windows and expand opening of front windows.

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Thayer Residence – 53 Loh Avenue - I have reviewed this application to remove vinyl siding and replace with shingles, repaint, replace windows and expand opening of front windows and find the proposals appear to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Lambert and unanimously carried to approve removal of vinyl siding and replace with shingles, repaint, replace windows and expand opening of front windows at 53 Loh Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 17, 2006 and July 18, 2006.  

ROBERT RESIDENCE – 63 MILLER AVENUE

Held over for Zoning Board approval.

KAPLAN RESIDENCE – 108 MACARTHUR LANE

The Board reviewed plans of siding change from vinyl/aluminum to vinyl siding.

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Kaplan Residence – 108 MacArthur Lane - I have reviewed this application of siding change from vinyl/aluminum to vinyl siding and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Mignogna moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve siding change from vinyl/aluminum to vinyl siding at 108 MAcArthur Lane as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 18, 2006.

DEL MONACO RESIDENCE – 28 CREST DRIVE

The Board reviewed plans for the replacement of siding.          
 
Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“DelMonaco Residence – 28 Crest Drive - I have reviewed this application for replacement of siding and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”


Ms. Lambert moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve replacement of siding at 28 Crest Drive as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 19, 2006.

DEROSE RESIDENCE – 124 DEERTRACK LANE

The Board reviewed plans to erect a front portico and house painting.                

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Derose Residence – 124 Deertrack Lane – I have reviewed this application to erect a front portico and house painting and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mrs. Byrnes moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to approve a front portico and house painting at 124 Deertrack Lane as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 20, 2006, July 21, 2006 and July 28, 2006.

VAN HOUTEN RESIDENCE – 16 RIVERVIEW AVENUE

The Board reviewed plans to erect freestanding stone walls on the north and west sides of the property.  
 
Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Van Houten Residence – 16 Riverview Avenue – I have reviewed this application to erect freestanding stone walls on the north and west sides of the property and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Ms. Lambert moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve construction of freestanding walls on the north and west sides of the property at 16 Riverview Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 20, 2006.

TERRITO RESIDENCE – 44 COTTAGE PLACE

The Board reviewed plans to erect a 6’ high lattice top vinyl privacy fence in the rear of the property.
Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Territo Residence – 44 Cottage Place - I have reviewed this application to erect a 6’ high lattice top vinyl privacy fence in the rear of the property and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Lambert and unanimously carried to approve a 6’ high lattice top vinyl privacy fence in the rear of the property at 44 Cottage Place as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 24, 2006.

RODE RESIDENCE – 48 CREST DRIVE

The Board reviewed plans to erect a 3 ½’ to 4’ high scalloped fence in the side and rear yards.  
 
Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated August 16, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Rode Residence – 48 Crest Drive – I have reviewed this application to erect a 3 ½’ to 4’ high scalloped fence in the side and rear yards and find the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Mignogna moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve a 3 ½’ to 4’ high scalloped fence in the side and rear yards at 48 Crest Drive as shown on the plans received by the Building Department July 10, 2006.

PRELIMINARY PRESENTATION

WEST ROCK FAMILY CHURCH – 723 SOUTH BROADWAY

Church representatives reviewed with the Board preliminary plans for a new church.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
        
Ms. Lambert moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried that the minutes of the Architectural Review Board’s July 19, 2006 be approved as submitted.  Motion carried.
