Regular Meeting
January 11, 2006        8 p.m.

PRESENT:        Chairman Perry; Members, Mrs. Byrnes, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Carr,  

ABSENT: Mr. Mignogna and Village Engineer McGarvey

GAYLON PROPERTY – 25 MAIN STREET

Applicant requested an adjournment.  

KELLY RESIDENCE – 40 BENEDICT AVENUE

Mr. Joseph Bertolino, architect, reviewed with the Board plans of second floor deck at the rear of the property.

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated January 11, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Kelly Residence – 40 Benedict Avenue - I have reviewed this application for a second floor deck at the rear of the property and determined the proposal appears to pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve a second floor deck at the rear of the property at 40 Benedict Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department November 18, 2005.

A MOST CREATIVE AFFAIR – 42 NORTH BROADWAY

No one appeared on behalf of the applicant.

The Board unanimously agreed to adjourn until the February meeting.   

DEGGIE URZA – 31 MAIN STREET

The Board reviewed plans for awning sign with tie back curtain in the Main Street Historical District.  

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to issue “Certificate of Appropriateness” for awning sign with tie back curtain in the Main Street Historical District at 31 Main Street as shown on the plans received by the Building Department December 22, 2005.  

ROLAND RESIDENCE – 99 WILSON PARK DRIVE

Mr. John Ferraro, architect, reviewed with the Board plans for the addition of a covered porch and second story dormers.  
 
Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.

Mrs. Ann Hull – 111 Wilson Park Drive
Mrs. Angela Schneider – 16 Fairview Avenue

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated January 11, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Roland Residence – 99 Wilson Park Drive - I have reviewed this application for the addition of a covered porch and second story dormers and determined the proposals pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Mrs. Byrnes and unanimously carried to approve the addition of a covered porch and second story dormers at 99 Wilson Park Drive as shown on the plans received by the Building Department December 13, 2005.    

RUBINSTEIN RESIDENCE – 225 BENEDICT AVENUE

The Board reviewed plans for a six foot high red cedar fence at the rear of the property.

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated January 11, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Rubinstein Residence – 225 Benedict Avenue – I have reviewed this application for a six foot cedar fence at the rear of the property and determined the proposal poses no adverse environmental impact.”

Mrs. Byrnes moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to approve a six foot high red cedar fence at the rear of the property at 225 Benedict Avenue as shown on the plans received by the Building Department December 5, 2005.

CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION – 268 SOUTH BROADWAY

The Board reviewed plans for resurfacing of storage area and replacement of the existing fence with a six foot high chain link fence.

Chairman Perry questioned whether anyone wished to address the Board on this matter.
No one appeared.

Chairman Perry reported receipt of the following memo dated January 11, 2006, from Kathleen D’Eufemia, Designated Environmental Review Officer:

“Church of the Transfiguration – 268 South Broadway – I have reviewed this application for resurfacing of storage area and replacement of the existing fence with a six foot high chain link fence and determined the proposals pose no adverse environmental impact.”

Mrs. Byrnes moved, seconded by Mr. Carr and unanimously carried to approve resurfacing of storage area and replacement of the existing fence with a six foot high chain link fence at 268 South Broadway as shown on the plans received by the Building Department November 30, 2005.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Byrnes moved, seconded by Ms. Lambert and unanimously carried that the minutes of April 13, 2005, be approved as submitted.  Mr. Carr abstained.  Motion carried.

Mr. Carr moved, seconded by Ms. Lambert and unanimously carried that the minutes of December 14, 2005, be approved as submitted.  Motion carried.


The minutes of May 11, 2005, to be approved at the February 15, 2006 meeting.
