Paradise Road Drainage Project / Traffic Detour Call

Starting Monday, August 24, 2015 through Mid-November 2015



This is the Swampscott Police Department with a traffic detour alert.

Residents of Franklin Av, Stetson AV, Swampscott Av and Norfolk Av are advised that, due to a scheduled drainage project along Paradise Rd., southbound, which is Lynn bound) traffic along Paradise Rd. will be detoured onto Franklin Av.

Traffic will then be detoured left down Stetson Av. and then right out onto Norfolk Av, crossing Middlesex Av and back to Paradise Rd. Northbound, which is Salem bound traffic will not be diverted and will be allowed to continue northbound.

Additionally, when the project begins, traffic exiting Franklin Av will only be permitted to take a left onto Paradise Rd. heading Salem bound.

Traffic exiting Swampscott Av will only be permitted to take a right onto Paradise Rd. heading Salem bound.

At this time there are no plans to prohibit parking on either side of any of the detour routes involved.

Parking restrictions and the detour route are subject to change based upon the demands of the project and traffic flow.

Detour signage will be in place and officers will be assigned to the detail during work hours to assist with traffic flow.

Officers from the shift will also monitor the area to help insure compliance with speed regulations and detour patterns.

This project is currently scheduled to be underway Monday the 24th of August 2015 and will continue through mid-November 2015.
