This is the 11th Annual Swampscott Tree of Lights ~ sponsored by Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston and will be held on this Thursday, December 5th. The short ceremony will start promptly at 5 pm and will feature a few spoken words, and Invocation, a candle and tree Lighting. Immediately following the ceremony is a community reception at the 1st Church of Swampscott with viewing of the Honor Roll book.
We know that holidays are especially difficult times for those who mourn the loss of a loved one. Each December, Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston hosts a Tree of Lights ceremony in four communities – Danvers, Swampscott, Gloucester and Wellesley – we encourage all of our employees and the community to attend . A luminated tree, with each light representing a loved one, is a visible reminder that warm and happy memories bring a joy that penetrates the darkness of grief.
