The Town of Swampscott is looking for an interested resident to fill a recent vacancy on the Town's Planning Board. Any resident who has an interest in the development of Swampscott is encouraged to submit a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen.
The Planning Board is tasked with a number of key elements for the Town: adopting a master plan, conducting land use studies, reviewing and approving subdivision applications, overseeing the evolution of the Zoning By-Law, and performing site plan reviews for project developments.
The vacancy will be filled by a joint vote (appointment) by the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board. As the Planning Board is an elected board in Swampscott, the appointed member will remain on the Planning Board until the next election at which time they can then run for the open seat.
Interested residents are encouraged to speak with the Town Planner to learn more about the role on the board.
