The Board of Assessors will be implementing a Data Verification of all Real Property to be effective for January 1, 2014 in preparation for the next tax billing cycle. The Data Verification requires checking all building measurerments and inspecting the interior of the properties. The Board of Assessors has contracted Patriot Properties of Lynn, MA to assist with this task. The data collectors are all experienced full time employees and will be registered with the Police Department and will have proper
identification. The interior inspection only takes a few minutes and is necessary in order to determin the fair market value of the property and to create equitable assessments throughout the town. Data Collectors are not involved with the valuation process and cannot answer questions about how specific changes affect the value of the property.
