Members in Attendance:                           
      Chairman Jesse Limanek, Vice Chair John L. Hebert, Clerk David Hall, Selectmen Michael Kenney & Wendy Mead  
      Town Administrator James Smith & Deb Jacques, secretary  

Chairman Limanek calls the meeting to order at 7:00pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

Selectman Hall motions to accept as presented the May 15, 2018 meeting minutes, Vice Chair Hebert 2nds passes 3-0-2  
                           (Selectman Kenney absent from 5/15 meeting/Selectman Mead newly appointed to Board)
Before the 1st agenda item, Chairman Limanek thanks his colleagues for the past year as Chairman. Jesse states it was a very good year, he enjoyed it tremendously. As a board they saw a balanced budget, progress on the new Police Station, 3 well attended town meetings. 2017-2018 was a good year.   
 
Selectmen’s reorganization:
Clerk David Hall motions to nominate John Hebert to Chairman of the Selectmen, Selectman Kenney seconds passes 5-0.
Chairman Hebert         motions to nominate David Hall to Vice-Chairman, Selectman Limanek seconds passes 5-0
Chairman Hebert motions to nominate Wendy Mead to Clerk of the Selectmen, Selectman Limanek seconds passes 5-0
Chairman Hebert states he is gratified to be in the position, this is his 12th and final year, he will not run for re-election. As a board John states they have collectively gotten a lot accomplished and it is always with the best interest of people of Sutton.  John states he appreciates all the members new and old. At times there may be some disagreements but that makes us healthy as a board. When TA Smith was hired the town was in shambles. He has done quite well, we all respect Jim. We have a great group of Dept. Heads and employees. One of the greatest accomplishments as a board was going from a bond rating of AA Stable to AA Plus.

Home Rule Petition for Special Legislation: TA Smith states this received full support at the May Town Meeting. A letter will be sent to Senator Fattman and State Rep. McKenna to assist at state level. The BOS are all in support of this petition. Selectman Limanek motions to approve the Board of Selectmen to sign a letter in support of the Home Rule Petition for Special Legislation as approved at the May Town Meeting - Article 12, Selectman Kenney seconds passes 5-0

TA Update:
  • Goddard Lodge Rehab: preconstruction meeting with Colletta Construction May 21. The site will be fenced off during the construction work to keep separate from the beach area.  
  • The Town Facebook page: Pam Nichols, Communications Director requested we redesign the Sutton Community Television Facebook page and make it the Towns Facebook page.
  • Marion’s Camp Beach- will open Father’s Day weekend, noon to 6pm from June 16 to August 19 and then weekends of August 25 and Sept 1. Swim lessons will start July 2, Mon thru Thurs.
  • Reconstruction of Dudley Road- Out to bid currently for Dudley, Harback and Marble Road. The project will include full depth pavement reclamation and repaving. We are using Chapter 90 funds for this work. Bids are due in June 28th @ 11AM
  • Depot Street reconstruction: our CMRPC Southeast sub-region rep. informed us that the Depot St Bridge is on the TIP plan for FY2020. Total project cost $3,765,000.     
  • Memorial Day Parade: held on May 28th, special thankyou to Band director Justin Falvo for the Armed Services Medley which had been requested years ago by former Selectman Mike Chizy.
  • Galaxy Plaza site work: there will be a 15,000 sq. ft. building being built. There will be a Dialysis office and a Luv to Play (franchise) located in this building.
  • $125,000. Communications upgrade approved through the senate. It still requires the Governor to sign off. This will help with a greater expansion of fiber for safety communications.
  • Changes to Fire Dept. Staff: promoted to District Chiefs: Jake Nunnemacher from company 1, Jim Galanos with company 2 and Shaun Courtney from company 3.
                
 
Announcements/Round Table:
  • Vice Chair Hall presented the Sutton Youth Baseball proclamation on Sunday June 3rd at Hough Road field.  Dave also congratulates all the winners from the recent Town Election with a special welcome to Wendy Mead elected to the Board of Selectmen.
Selectman Limanek thanks the community for attending the Memorial Day Parade, kudos to all involved. Jesse reads the needs of the Mike Chizy food pantry and reminds residents with summer approaching the needs expand.
Selectman Kenney welcomes Wendy Mead to the Board, Mike says it is great to have fresh ideas on board.
Selectman Mead thanks the BOS for being so welcoming, Wendy also thanks the community for all the support she received.
Chairman Hebert offers his thanks to Jen Hager for all the work she put in to the Town Meeting, she did a great job in explaining the articles, especially the recreational marijuana.   

7:45 pm Chairman Hebert motions to enter into Executive Session reasoning #3 to discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation with the intention of returning back to open session for the purpose of adjournment. Roll call vote taken.
8:55 pm   the Board enters back into regular session.
