Members in Attendance:                           
             Chairman Michael Chizy, Vice-Chair John Hebert, Clerk Kenneth Stuart & Member Richard Hersom  
                                                          
Also in Attendance:
        Town Administrator James Smith & Debbie Jacques Administrative Secretary  

Chairman Chizy calls the meeting to order at 7:00 pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Selectman Hersom motions to approve as presented meeting minutes from 8/21/2012, Selectman Hebert second’s passes 4-0
Selectman Stuart motions to approve as presented but not to be distributed until appropriate time Executive session minutes from 8/21/2012, Selectman Hebert seconds passes 4-0
Designation of committee members as special municipal employees (MGL 268A) TA Smith is requesting David Surprenant and Louis Ciavarra (both members of the Charter & Bylaw Review Committee) be designated as special municipal employees. Both are attorneys and may at some time need to appear before a town board on behalf of a client. Hearing no comments or concerns, Selectman Hersom motions to designate David Surprenant & Louis Ciavarra as special municipal employees under MGL chapter 268A, Selectman Hebert seconds passes 4-0        

Town Administrators Update:
  • Marions Camp foundation poured for pavilion, BVT students to begin in a week or so. Andrews performed a perc, Jim Malley has reported back that a septic system can be designed for the location. The idea is to have working restrooms in the Goddard Lodge as well as the bath house.
  • Manchaug Dam: acquired by the town on August 29th, the $350,000.00 check has been received by the town for future dam maintenance. Thanks to all involved including Shirin Everett of Kopelman and Paige.  
  • Special Election for the open seat on the BOS to be held on October 2nd from 3pm to 8pm. Dave Hall is the only candidate running
  • Town Administrators evaluation will be on the agenda for September 18th, 2012
  • State Primary Election to be held Thursday, September 6th 7am to 8pm
