Also at this time NGrid is converting Mercury Vapor street lights to Sodium Vapor lights which will save the town $3,500.-$4,000. a year. TA Smith informs the BOS that the town was selected 5th in the State to have a comprehensive energy audit from the Dept. of Energy Resources (DOER). This will help identify deficiencies. Also discussed was the Wind Turbine grant submitted this week to Massachusetts Technology Collaboration. This is a multi step process. The next step will be a full wind analysis. The three locations that will be examined are the School complex, Shaw Farm and the Sewer Plant. TA Smith thanks Linda Shea and Jen Hager for their work on the grant writing. Selectman Geraghty is very encouraged with the AD Hoc Energy Committee and the dedication they show.
