Selectmen's Minutes 2013/09/03

SUNAPEE BOARD OF SELECTMEN
6:30PM Town Office Meeting Room
Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Present: Fred Gallup Chairman, Suzanne Gottling, Shane Hastings,
Joshua Trow and Donna Nashawaty, Town Manager
Absent: Emma Smith Vice-Chairman
Also Present: See Sign-in Sheet

Chairman Gallup opened the meeting at 6:30PM

Chairman Gallup read an email regarding the parking signs in Sunapee Harbor. The sender received a $40 parking ticket, which was paid, but feels the parking signs in the harbor should be “much clearer.” After some discussion, the Board felt the signs were sufficient and asked the Town Manager to send a letter with their response.

Selectmen Action
These are the questions that the Board asked at the August 26th meeting regarding the H-5 dump bed.
When is the chassis scheduled to be replaced and are we throwing away a bed and sander that will not go on a new truck…H-5 was originally scheduled to be replaced this year. However, due to the problems that we have had with H-3 (i.e. twisted frame and significant transmission issues), I planned (and Tony had) to trade H-3 this year. FYI, H-5 has fewer miles on it than H-3, and is in much better mechanical condition. We are going to keep the old bed and sander components for spare parts. The new bed and sander for H-5 will be transferred onto each truck as each truck is transitioned into being a backup truck in our fleet.
Is this a front line truck? H-5 is not a front line truck; it is the backup truck for the front line trucks
Will this make the truck go further out on the replacement schedule?
I am going to use H-5 to assist with winter maintenance operations, and my intent is that this continues as the backup truck for at least three additional years.
•Motion to authorize for spending out of Used Equipment Capital Reserve Fund $13, 126 by Selectman Hastings, seconded by Selectman Trow. Unanimous
