Appointments
•Chairman Gallup opened the public hearing to accept the gift of $6,600 from Project Sunapee to pay the crane service to set the bridge at 7:01pm. Chairman Gallup asked for Board and/or public comments. The public hearing closed at 7:03pm.
•Scott Hazelton reviewed the bid proposals received that were for Winn Hill Road and Trow Hill Road. Four (4) companies submitted proposals for engineering and design services. Scott Hazelton went on to say, he has money in his budget left over from the completed paving projects, to put towards one of these projects. Scott Hazelton’s recommendation would be to put this money towards Winn Hill Road, which was on this year’s paving schedule. Currently Scott Hazelton is also working with FEMA. With the recent storms and washouts that the Town experienced, he is awaiting the approval of the Governor’s declaration and upon approval of declaration; the Town may be eligible for costs to assist with improvements to Trow Hill design because that was one of the roads in Sunapee that was impacted significantly by the storm events. At this time, he would like to go forward with the Winn Hill design project.
Scott Hazelton also solicited bid proposals from three (3) site contractors to repair and replace the existing sidewalk and concrete curb on Lower Main Street and North Road up to the school. Scott Hazelton has approximately $29,000 available in his budget, which after speaking with United Construction negotiated their bid amount to $25,500, which includes the Highway staff completing all the prep work for the project. The project will be done before the start of the school year.
