Minutes
Present: Melissa Eastman, Paul Skarin, Chuck Weinstein, Brian Garland, Patricia Halpin, Scott Blewitt, Chris Williams, Megan Reed, John Walden
1. Call to order and review minutes of last meeting:
Meeting was called to order at 7:10 minutes were accepted as written.
2. Library presentation:
John Walden updated the committee on the library plans. After much discussion, it was decided that we needed to have certain areas clarified. John will find out what legally needs to be funded by the project, how much must be given, who will maintain the areas, and when these funds are specified in the project plan. He will keep Scott informed and plan to attend our next meeting.
3. Mission Statement:
Accepted, as written, in November 2006 minutes.
4. Selection of officers:
Proposed: Chris Williams- chairperson, Paul Skarin- vice chairperson, Melissa Eastman – secretary. This was seconded and approved. Offices would be one year terms.
5. Dewey Field/ Trails:
a. Bike/ Hike trails will be planned with the help of the conservation committee in January.
b. Paul will meeting with Charlie Hershberg to figure out how it might be best to develop both sides of the Dewey field properties.
6. Veteran’s Field:
Presently being investigated how we might improve the drainage on the field.
7. Director’s report:
“Sunapee Ski Day” flyers are out, Celtics tickets available, Open Gym has started, Red Sox tickets being purchased, Newsletter was mailed, Foxwoods trip is ‘sold out’, planning another ‘softball clinic and possible golf tournament to support Sunapee recreation
8. Other:
a. Chuck advised us that the Lion’s Club would like us to attend their meeting in January with ideas on projects we might have planned.
b. Paul will get information from Dexter’s Inn concerning the cross country skiing.
c. Patricia reported that Deb McGrath will attend our next meeting with information on the rock bass fishing derby.
d. Melissa will start to develop a survey concerning the skateboard park.
e. We voted to move our meetings back to the second Tuesday of the month.
