Meeting Called to order 7:05 Pm Sunapee Town Hall, Sunapee NH

*       Myles Cooney has requested $500 to support a summer soccer
program.  The funds would be split equally between the boys and girls team.  The teams would be made up of children in the community that are grade 8 and greater.  The teams will also be open to summer residents, if they have interest.  The players would be expected to support the Sunapee Recreation soccer teams either through refereeing games or assisting with coaching.

Veterans Field
*       Jack Weinberger provided an update on his fund raising project
to update Veterans Field.  Jack has currently raised $1200 and is anxiously waiting for the snow to melt off the field so he can get to work.
*       Scott Blewitt is working on a flag pole as well as a sign to go
over the top of the kick board. Scott will touch base with Roger Landry to determine if there are any restrictions on signs.  Jack has a flag that was flown in Iraq once the flag pole is in place.

Ski Tow Hill
*       The warranty article passed and we can now proceed with having a
parking lot built at Ski Tow Hill so people may enjoy the property. Craig Heino will follow up with Roger Landry on the question of a sign as well as the drive way permit.  Paul Skarin (Rec Committee Chair) will select a date so the committee may walk Ski Tow Hill once the snow has melted. Any funds left over after the establishment of the parking lot on Ski Tow Hill will be used to further evaluate the expansion of Dewey
Fields on the west side of Route 11.   Scott Blewitt will review past
proposals to see what data already exists on Dewey Fields.

Other Business:
*       Brian Garland made a motion that the Sunapee Recreation
Department give $500 to the summer soccer program with the expectation that the players on the team support the K-6 soccer program. Seconded by Craig Heino.
*       The One Mile West Golf Tournament to benefit the Sunapee
Recreation Department  is set for July 11, 2008 and the Newport Golf Club.
*       The fund raising for this years fire works is proceeding, to
date $5500 has been raised.
*       There will be a mandatory meeting on April 21 for all baseball
coaches, as well Scott will be conducting a rules meeting.
*       An archery program will be offered this summer as part of the
summer activities.  The program will be held at Veterans Field.
*       The summer -fall recreation news letter is underway and will be
12-14 pages long.
*       The skate board park was discussed; there is a concerned about
the type of the features as the wood and steel do not last long and in time will be worn out and weathered. The concern is that the recreation department will be expected to be responsible for the care and maintaince of the skate board park in the future.
