Sunapee Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes December 1, 2010

Robert Hill made the motion to accept the minutes of November 10, 2010. Motion was seconded by Rem Mastin. All in favor – 6, opposed 0.
Field Stone Hills – The SCC’s offer to purchase a lot was rejected and no counter offer was made. SCC sent a thank you to Claremont Saving Bank indicating our continued interest. We will put a sign up on the parcel in Field Stone Hills that was deeded to the town so it is identified as open for the public and owned by the Town of Sunapee. The December 13th meeting is the first of two public hearings to accept the property into the Town. Then two public hearings. Discussion of a warrant article of putting the Field Stone Hill lot (26Acres) into Town Forest as well as adding to the management plan. Tim Fleury made the motion to draft a warrant article enrolling the 26 acre Field Stone Hill parcel into the Town Forest. Seconded by Rem Mastin. All in favor 6, Opposed 0. Projects for 2011 will be
to blaze boundaries.
Van will investigate the process to annex the new Field Stone Hills parcel with the Webb Flint parcel to create one large lot. (66 acres) A conservation easement was raised for the parcels however the land is land locked, wet so somewhat protected naturally from development however there is wildlife attribute to consider. Expenses out weigh the need of an easement for now, but Con Com discussed the need for us to keep a visible presence in Town and keep projects in front of the voters. This project will tie in with the Future Land Use Map in the Master Plan. Tim Fleury made the motion that the SCC draft to place a conservation easement on the Webb/Flint lot and the 26 acre Field Stone Hills lot. SCC would work with ASLPT to hold the easement. Seconded by Rem Mastin. All in favor 6, Opposed 0.
Ledge Pond – January we will review deed work and have the Ledge Pond easement completed in time for Town Meeting and will use this as an introduction to our next project.
