Earth Day Neighborhood Trash Pick Up & Trail Work on April 22
Earth Day Neighborhood Trash Pick Up and Earth Day Trail Work on April 22

Sturbridge, MA   – The Sturbridge Conservation office is again encouraging a town wide Earth Day Trash Clean Up event.   To get involved, stop into the Conservation Office at the Center Office Building Tuesdays through Fridays 9:00 am to 3:00 pm to register.  Heavy-duty MA Highway bags are available in the Sturbridge Conservation Office.  Volunteers will be asked to provide their names, the location of their clean up, and the location where bags will be left for pick up.  The office also asks that volunteers sign a release form and take a volunteer “Do’s and Don’ts” sheet.

Volunteers can select the areas they would like to work in.  Work can be done over the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd.  It is encouraged that neighborhoods, school groups, individuals and volunteer organizations take advantage of this excellent volunteer opportunity.  On Monday April 24th, the Sturbridge DPW will pick up bags at their designated locations.  It is important to note that the bags should be used only to clean up litter and trash --  no household items or yard waste.

For more information, call the Conservation Office at 508-347-2506 or email conservation@town.sturbridge.ma.us.
