The Fire Chief Search Committee has extended its deadline to receive public comments in the search for a new Fire Chief.
The Sturbridge Fire Chief Search Committee is seeking written recommendations and/or vision(s) from town residents and stakeholders on what qualities you would find important in a new Fire Chief.
“The position of Fire Chief in any community is a tremendously important one,” said Town Administrator Leon A. Gaumond Jr. “There are few similar positions in a community where the residents may have strong feelings about the leadership of a department. It is clear to me that Fire Chief is one of those positions and citizen involvement in the process will not only help me make a wise choice for the Town but also shows the applicants for the position the character of the Town and its citizens.”
Any residents interested in providing written comments should feel free to forward their information to Leon Gaumond Jr., Town Administrator, 308 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566 or by email:lgaumond@town.sturbridge.ma.us. the new deadline for submissions will be October 7, 2016.
