Important information about the Town Clerk's Office
On Friday, August 5, 2016, our longtime Town Clerk, Lorraine Murawski, retired from her position.  As a result, the office of the Town Clerk may be closed until her replacement can be chosen.  It is expected that the Selectmen will appoint a Temporary Town Clerk within a couple of weeks.  Until then, the Selectmen have appointed the Town Administrator to serve in this role on an emergency basis.

The people of Sturbridge should know that the Town is committed to keeping operations as normal as possible during this time.  However please expect to have a delay in items you are seeking from the office.  Forms will be left in front of the Clerk’s office for individuals seeking a birth, death or marriage certificate.  You will be asked to complete the request form and we will contact you when the document is retrieved.  You should know that Birth Certificates can also be obtained from the town in which the person was born in addition to the town of residence.  You should also know that marriage licenses can be obtained from any town hall in Massachusetts.

For emergency items, please contact the Town Administrator at 508-347-2500 or visit his office on the second floor of Sturbridge Town Hall.
