Evening Walk at the Plimpton property is tonight
An Evening Walk
at the new

Plimpton Community Forest
in Sturbridge

Wednesday, May 11th;  6:00 – 7:30 pm

Park and meet at 277 New Boston Road, Sturbridge

Join us as we explore the newest conservation property of the Town of Sturbridge, known as The Plimpton Community Forest.   Leading the walk will be Sturbridge Conservation Agent Glenn Colburn, and Opacum Land Trust Executive Director Ed Hood, and botanist Leslie Duthie of the Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary.

From the 1800s until the early 20th century, this property was a working farm, and we will follow the old cart paths and logging roads on this 2-1/2 mile walk over rolling terrain.  The property contains scenic ponds, ledges, streams and trails, including beautiful and classic New England stone walls.

This event will be held rain or shine, unless thunderstorms are predicted.
Participants should wear sturdy shoes and dress for current weather.
Children familiar with hiking, and experienced for this length of hike are welcomed.
