Sturbridge Police to Participate in 14th Annual “Goods for Guns” Day

The Sturbridge Police Department is participating in the 14th annual “Goods
for Guns Day” on December 12, 2015, from 10AM until 2PM.

The goal of this program, which is sponsored by both UMASS Medical
Center and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, is to remove
unsecured or unwanted guns and ammunition from communities across the
Commonwealth. Any person turning in a gun or ammunition will receive a
gift certificate to either Shaw’s or Stop and Shop Supermarkets.

Participants in this program, which may remain anonymous should they
choose, are asked to bring any unwanted firearm or ammunition to the
Sturbridge Police Department.

“Preventing even one firearm from ending up in the hands of a criminal or
child is extremely beneficial to the safety of our community,” according to
Sturbridge Police Chief Thomas J. Ford III

Any questions concerning this “Goods for Guns Day” may be directed to
