The Town of Sturbridge is looking to fill two important vacancies on the Town’s Personnel Committee.
The Personnel Committee is a volunteer group made up of 5 individuals, four of which are appointed by the Town Administrator. Its primary duty is to make personnel policy recommendations for regular Town Employees, including matters such as fringe benefits, working conditions, etc. and to assist in updates to the Personnel Handbook. They also prepare and review job descriptions and recommends salary plans to the Town Administrator.
This is a committee that I expect to work closely with while I serve as the Town Administrator and I am looking for individuals with some background in personnel matters to assist the Town in this important committee. Municipal experience is not required however the best candidates for the vacancies are those who have some basic knowledge of personnel systems.
