Bill August, Attorney

Members attended the Selectmen meeting at 7 pm at Stow Town Building.  Attorney August and Coordinator VanTine spoke with Selectmen to solicit support for the Preliminary Ascertainment Document.  Selectmen voted unanimously to support the document.

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 pm.

Attorney August started the discussion by detailing the general topics that can be addressed in the contract renewal process (service, street quality, signal, rates, etc). Cable committee members described the town’s passive coax cable and recommended that no additional Inet capability was needed beyond maintenance of the existing network. Attorney August asked about live origination and suggested we should test all live links.

Members expressed concern about whether Section 6.7 would prohibit the configuration that was installed by Verizon with Comcast permission.  August indicated that it should not be a problem because the two cable companies had already agreed that it was acceptable.

August referenced a Form 500, which is a summary of customer complaints. He recommended that Stow TV request that form from Comcast.

The group discussed who would attend the Comcast hearings.  LACAC members indicated general willingness to attend if needed but no commitments were made.

Lavina moved and Glorioso seconded that the meeting adjourn at 8:30.  Approved unanimously.

Respectfully Submitted
