Marcia Rising, Chair of the Stow Board of Health and Jack Wallace, Health Agent for Stow were introduced and both said words of welcome. Chief Soar spoke on his role in the ICS , how the MRC would fit into the system and the MRC’s role in an emergency situation. He assured those present that under no circumstances would a member of the MRC ever be put in danger or into a situation for which they were not trained. He addressed the issue of required trainings (CPR, First Aid, ICS 700 and 100) and stated that although he would like all MRC members be fully trained he realized that this would need to be modified to account for volunteer age, physical ability and comfort level. John Sangermano spoke about membership, the web site and then explained
the Mission Statement for the town MRC, its Goals and the trainings that are required. A question and answer session was initiated, and a discussion of training requirement occurred.
Lisa Sangermano gave a short excellent presentation on Preparedness for Pets.
