Meeting Minutes
General Bylaw Review Committee
March 24, 2005
Members Present: Jack Clayton, George Cormier, Kathleen Pavelchek,
Deb Woods, and Linda Hathaway
Meeting called to order at 7:10 p.m.
The committee agreed to meet the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Town Building, with the exception of April 14th. The committee will meet at 8 p.m. on 4/14, so as not to conflict with the Finance Committee public hearing.
The committee members discussed the sections they had flagged for review and the areas that different boards/committees have suggested in the past be reviewed/revised: animal control, earth removal, street acceptances, wetlands, personnel, community preservation, finance committee, town meeting, solicitation, and articles dealing with fees and dollar amounts.
Future tasks will include taking the list of committees and officers, contacting them and scheduling a visit with the board to discuss the section(s) of the bylaws that they enforce, or are governed by and what they suggest for changes, if any.
For the next meeting, Kathleen will provide a list of the committees and departments referred to in the bylaws since she has much of this information already on her laptop.
The committee will review and begin setting appointments and liaisons.
