The Saco River Corridor Commission (SRCC) has received a grant to work with the non profit group, the Nonpoint Source Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) to provide planning strategies and information to the towns in the Saco River Corridor.~ The idea is to help bring Low Impact Development (LID) information directly to land use decision makers in the 20 town Saco River Corridor.
LaMarr Clannon of NEMO is an expert on low impact development and her presentations are enthusiastic and clear with a focus on how LID can reduce stormwater impacts, actually reduce the cost of development, improve treatment of pollutants, improve infrastructure that might impact surface and groundwater, protect drinking water, protect buffers and build community resiliency for climate change.~ It’s a lot of useful information and LaMarr’s presentation is succinct and to the point with a number of illustrations, examples and links for learning more.
