4. Discussion Items

ITEM:
4. A. (Continued)
Mr. Jeff Doolittle, Town Engineer informed the Committee that the Town has funding approved for sidewalks on Buckland Road from Deming Street to the Town Hall. Presently, Strong Road is approved to be 26 feet wide and because of utilities and the right of way it is not clear if the road could be widened.
Ms. Michele Lipe, Town Planner stated that she feels “Complete Streets” should be incorporated into the Plan of Conservation and Development.
B. Neighborhood Connectors from Approved South Windsor Walk & Wheel Ways Master Plan
Mr. John Caldwell, Park & Recreation Department reviewed the neighborhood connectors as shown in attached Exhibit B and stated that the first three trails could probably be complete by the end of the summer.
Ms. Lipe informed the Committee that the second proposed trail on the list (Nevers Road Park to Abbe Road Ext.) will need a permit from Inland Wetlands Agency/Conservation Commission.
5. Adjournment
At 8:45 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Deborah W. Reid
