The following are motions made during the February 3, 2011 Public Hearing/Regular Meeting.
PUBLIC HEARING
Vice Chairperson Berstene called the public hearing to order at 7:32 pm.
The recording secretary read the legal notice into the record as it was published in the Journal Inquirer on Saturday, January 22, 2011 and Saturday, January 29, 2011.
Appl. 2747-11 – A.V.E. LLC/Andrew Veselak, 46 Newberry Road, East Haddam, CT - request for a 10 foot variance to Table 3.1.2A to allow a garage 30 feet from the property line (40 required), at 515 Griffin Road, A-20 zone.
Andrew Veselak, owner of A.V.E LLC presented the application. Proposed is a one car garage attached to the left side of the ranch style house. The current driveway will be expanded to a 2 car width to in front of the garage, allowing a turnaround area for driving out instead of backing onto Griffin Road.
Berstene: The lot is actually considered a corner lot with 2 front yards.
Vice Chairperson Berstene closed the public hearing at 7:46 pm.

ITEM: Other Business
Vice Chairperson Berstene advised the Commission that, per the Town Attorney, the Zoning Board of Appeals cannot be designated as the contact in the appeal process for the Demolition Delay Ordinance.
Vice Chairperson Berstene suggested postponing the review of the proposed by-laws revision until the next meeting when Chairperson Wagner would be in attendance. The Commissioners agreed.
