TOWN OF SOUTH WINDSOR
INLAND WETLANDS/CONSERVATION COMMISSION

Minutes                                   - 1 -                                 April 18, 2012
MEMBERS PRESENT:                Elizabeth Warren, John Blondin, Carol Heffler, Audrey Delnicki, Adam Reed, Jack Phillips, Hugh Brower

ALTERNATES PRESENT:     none
        
STAFF PRESENT:          Jeff Folger, Environmental Planner

THE FOLLOWING ARE MOTIONS MADE DURING THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE INLAND WETLANDS AGENCY/ CONSERVATION COMMISSION – MADDEN ROOM

Chairperson Warren called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

ITEM:  PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:   no
ITEM:  PERMIT EXTENSIONS:   no
ITEM:  CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS:
Issues of the Habitat were distributed

ITEM:  MINUTES:   
Motion to: accept the minutes from 3/21/2012
Was made by: Commissioner Blondin
Seconded by: Commissioner Delnicki
The motion carried and the vote was unanimous.

ITEM:  CONSERVATION COMMISSION:
Eagle Scout projects are proceeding.

The trapper is still working to eliminate the beavers on the Town properties south of Sullivan Avenue by West Road.

ITEM:  WETLAND OFFICER’S REPORT:
Folger reported on the meeting with the Shepards on the Pleasant Valley Road farm field  

ITEM:   NEW BUSINESS  
Modification of use to Dzen Farms Open space by PZC.  Request to change the use from meadow habitat to hay production with no restrictions on mowing.  PZC approved the change in early March.  There is a vote to reconsider on April 24th.
After discussion the Commission came to a consensus that the original approval should be supported to the PZC.  Warren will attend the PZC hearing with supporting documentation.

Discussion concerning the amount of fees.  Folger is to review fees from other area towns.
