CALL TO ORDER: 7:30 pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes from 3/20/2012 and 6/19/2012 were approved by consensus.
OLD BUSINESS: none
OTHER BUSINESS:
- A presentation was made by Andy Paterno of the South Windsor Park and Recreation Commission, regarding the South Windsor Food Alliance. The presentation focused on the growing of food by farmers and community gardens and the use of good local foods by residents and the school system. The Alliance has a full agenda of concepts that directly or indirectly are pro-farming. The Alliance will be meeting at the Community Center on October 9th and 23rd at 6 pm. If you have an interest in doing so, attend a meeting and be amazed at their plans. Chairperson Warren made a motion that SWALPAC endorse the Alliance, and it was passed.
- Chairperson Warren disclosed that the Open Space Task Force “surveyed” a twenty acre farm and stated that it would be good land for the Town to acquire.
