South Windsor Public Building Commission
Minutes - Regular Meeting – December 8, 2010
Present: Chairman Fitts and Members: Jeski, Lyons, Neary, O’Connell, and Wilson.
Also present: Architect Humes and David Netz representing Cutter.
Chairman Fitts called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm in the Directors’ Conference Room in the South Windsor Public Library. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 10, 2010 were unanimously approved as presented.
Communications and Correspondence
None
New Fire House #3 and Ambulance Facility
The CM’s report was distributed and discussed (copy attached). The project is nearing completion so there are only a few items in the report. Without the Chief at the meeting, we did not get updated on furniture delivery and installation of final electronics for locks and communications. With the cold weather now on us, concern was expressed for the status of installation of data lines to monitor the building’s functions.
A final punch list needs attention, but PBC members want to do that in the building and need furniture in order to have a meeting. Also a CO. There was concern for possible damage to painted surfaces that could be caused by furniture installers. And after that, we need a formal building opening.
Landscaping is finished until spring when we will see if warantees need to be implemented due to winter losses.
Change Orders 109, 114, 115a, 118, 119, 134, 135, and 138 were all approved. These reflect closing of items as we near the end of construction
Close out documents were delivered by Cutter to Ken Jeski to hold for PBC review at the next PBC meeting.
Payment of Invoices
A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to recommend to the Town Manager payment of two Applications (# 24 and # 25 from Cutter) in the amounts of $6,058.17 and $356,965,
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm.
The next regular PBC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday January 12, 2011, starting at 6:30 pm in the Directors’ Room on the lower level of the South Windsor Public Library.
